1. Holding one tie (that is, side
of the sash) in each hand, cross the left tie (as viewed from the back) over
the right |

2. Bring the left tie under the
right at the centre. Pull the left tie through and leave it aside (draping it
over the right shoulder is ideal if it is long enough) |

3. Make a loop with the right
tie |

4. Turn the loop to the
right |

 |
5. Pick up the unlooped tie (that
is, the left tie which you left aside at stage 2) and place it over the looped
tie |

 |
6. Bring the left tie under the
looped tie and through the gap underneath |

 |
7. Pull on the looped ends to form
the bow |

8. Adjust the size of the loops and
arrange the ties as required |
